Dr. Arthur Schwartz is the President of Character.org. He is also a Professor of Leadership Studies and the Founding Director of the Oskin Leadership Institute at Widener University (PA). He came to Widener from the United States Air Force Academy where he served as that institution's Senior Scholar. Prior to his Air Force Academy appointment, Dr. Schwartz served fourteen years as a senior executive at the John Templeton Foundation. He is widely-known for collaborating with Dr. Martin E.P. Seligman at the University of Pennsylvania in catalyzing the field of positive psychology. Arthur's research focuses on the antecedents of moral courage and ethical leadership. Most recently, he wrote the lead chapter and edited Developing Ethical Leaders, published by Jossey-Bass. Dr. Schwartz has proudly served on the board of the International Leadership Association (ILA). He received his doctorate from Harvard University where he studied adolescent moral development.
